Join our team as a Special Education Support Teacher at our locations in the Bronx and Queens, NY. This part-time role, averaging 10-20 hours per week, offers an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse group of students, providing them with the support they need to thrive.

 

Responsibilities:

As a Special Education Support Teacher, your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Individualized Instruction: Provide tailored instruction and support to differently gifted children, addressing their unique learning needs.

 

  • Lesson Planning: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and activities that promote skill development and academic growth.

 

  • Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess student progress, adjusting instruction and interventions as necessary to meet individualized goals.

 

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with school staff, parents, and specialists to create a supportive learning environment for students.

 

  • Behavioral Support: Implement behavior management strategies to support students in developing positive behaviors and social skills.

 

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress, contributing to individualized education plans (IEPs).

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field, with relevant certifications.
  • Experience working with differently gifted children in educational settings.
  • Strong understanding of special education principles, interventions, and strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.
  • Flexibility to work part-time, averaging 10-20 hours per week.
